Saffron Barker wants to make a sensational return to Strictly.

The YouTuber, 22, is hoping she’ll get asked to be a contestant on this yea’’s big festive extravaganza.

She told Daily Star: “I had the time of my life on Strictly, so if the opportunity came to go back on for the Christmas Special, I’d jump at the chance. Watch this space!”

Saffron got a major career boost when she took part in the show in 2019.

Since then she’s appeared on a string of big shows and become the face of fashion brand Abbott Lyon.

Strictly head judge Shirley Ballas recently revealed she is hesitant to return for the new series after suffering trolling during the last run.

However, Saffron, who got to the final six in the 2019 series, reckons Strictly would be worse off without Shirley but understands how hard it’s been for her.

She says: “I think the show would not be the same without her. When I think of Strictly, I think of Shirley.

“At the same time the show’s going to be successful, but I do feel a part of it would be missing without her.”

It comes after Saffron revealed she wants the chance to take part in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! to prove she’s not a “dumb blonde”.

She said at the time: “People ᴀssume I’m a young, dumb blonde – I get that all the time. And so I enjoy proving I’m not the sort of person people expect me to be.

“I would love to do I’m A Celebrity and go outside my comfort zone and challenge myself.”
